Make a difference

The input and support of committed individuals is what will make our campaign, and four-year term should we win in November, successes. There is a world of difference between a bare-bones campaign effort and a high-profile, creative campaign that will cause some dramatic changes in Melbourne’s political landscape.

Campaign funds for The Greens are never high enough to be competitive with other local government candidates, though every little bit helps. Where The Greens CAN steal the show is with a formidable, creative and energetic team of volunteers.

If you want to see Melbourne’s future turn into a sustainable one and want to help elect a Green Lord Mayor, we want to hear from you. Whether you only have an hour or two, or whether you are willing to help in an ongoing capacity between now and November, please read on:

.

You can make a difference.

.

1. Tell us what you want to see.

We want to know what your vision for the city is, and what you think we’re doing right or wrong. Please visit our ‘what matters to you‘ page to share your thoughts, and leave an email address if you want us to get in touch with you.

.

2. Consider volunteering.

We are always short of volunteer letterboxers and doorknockers - if you have some time between now and November and are able to spare an hour here or there to deliver our messages to residents and businesses in the city through doorknocking or putting flyers and letters in letterboxes, or if you have other skills you would like to use in helping us in our campaign for City Council, please contact us and let us know how you would like to help, and leave your contact details.

.

3. Come along to one of our events.

The momentum and passion that groups Greens-supporters create when they meet together are powerful: please have a look at our ‘events’ list to the right of screen for upcoming policy launches, fund-raising events, public meetings and other happenings.

.

4. Demand change.

If you’re not happy with the directions that our parliaments are taking us in, let your local representatives know about it. Representatives elected to public office, particularly those in marginal seats, will listen: their jobs depend on it! To contact your local representatives, please follow the links below. These links are relevant to residents of the City of Melbourne.
