The Greens publicly announced our strong team for November’s Melbourne City Council elections on March 12th, 2008.
Our Lord Mayor candidate, Adam Bandt (middle), together with our Deputy Lord Mayor candidate, Cr Kathleen Maltzahn (left), provide an experienced, committed team to make up our Leadership Ticket.
Our candidates for the Councillor Ticket, Cathy Oke (lead candidate, right), Rohan Leppert (middle), Alister Air (left) and Donna Lancaster (right) all live and work in the City of Melbourne.
Together, our campaign team in 2008 will bring the strongest ever push for a greener, fairer council representation. Our policies are here.
We came second to John So last time, despite being outspent about 80 to 1, and this time, with your help, we can win the leadership ticket and increase our councillor ticket representation as well.
Please read our front page blog, leave us your feedback, click on our candidate links and learn about our plans for a sustainable future for Melbourne. If you are in a position to assist us in our bid to blitz the November elections and provide leadership on fighting global warming, tackling night-time safety while maintaining Melbourne’s city culture, restoring democracy to Town Hall and bringing the City of Melbourne into a new era of community engagement, we will be very grateful of any help you can give.
Please consider coming along to one of our fundraising events (see ‘events’ box at side), offering to volunteer, or donating to our campaign.
