Rohan Leppert is second on The Greens’ Councillor Ticket
Rohan has lived, worked and studied in the City of Melbourne for six years and currently lives in North Melbourne. He is a music teacher with Associate and Licentiate qualifications, and is working towards a Masters in Teaching.
Upon moving to Melbourne from the ACT at the end of 2002, he became heavily involved in environmental and queer activism, through university and Green circles. He is currently the Melbourne Regional Co-Convenor of the Victorian Greens.
Rohan became drawn into local politics due to the unacceptable disengagement between Melbourne City Council and residents, at a time when governments at all levels should be working together with residents to find practical ways of combating climate change, and achieving sustainable futures for our cities.
Most recently, Rohan has spearheaded The Greens’ response to alcohol-induced violence in the city after dark and is campaigning for local and state governments to adopt Green policies in place of the failed ‘2am lockout’.
