Policies for a Green Melbourne
The Greens’ policies for Melbourne City Council are based around 5 key ideas:
- Making Melbourne Australia’s most sustainable capital city. We will use Council’s resources to meet the challenges of a climate change emergency.
- Helping to create a world-class public transport system which can move people without petrol.
- Social justice: Council should prioritise the social and economic needs of the community, and invest more in services (like childcare).
- A creative Melbourne: we must continue to support our vibrant cultural and social life, especially our small bars and creative businesses.
- Running a democratic, transparent and accountable Council.
The Greens are committed to electoral honesty and transparency and proudly announce our policies before the election: click on the links below to view our full local policies.
