Donna Lancaster is a Greens candidate on the Councillor Ticket
Donna is one of the many Kensington locals that you see negotiating their bikes through banked-up traffic on their way to work.
Donna has worked in the Tourism Industry as a guide for the last 4 years, sharing her passion for Melbourne with its visitors. She is keen to see that Melbourne City Council does everything that it can to provide better transport services and foster street safety for residents and visitors alike. Donna has a Bachelor of Arts (Outdoor Education) and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), and she has taught in Australian and overseas schools for over 10 years. She still works as a casual relief teacher in many schools in the area.
Donna has always had a keen sense of community and has been an active member of the Kensington Association since moving to the area; she has been central to the campaign to protect Kensington’s amenity by opposing the East-West Road Tunnel. She is also an active sportsperson, and has fought to protect public access to open spaces.
Donna has had a long-standing interest in environmental issues and in the history of Melbourne. She is keen to see Melbourne City Council’s planning process respect that history while moving towards an environmentally sustainable future.
